About Me
For the past several years, I have been writing extensively after an interesting and successful business career that required writing on a daily basis. So writing has always been an integral part of my life, even if it has not been my primary occupation. I believe my life experiences give me a tremendous advantage as a writer, providing me with insights into what goes on in the world that simply can’t be taught in schools. The passing of time instills lots of street smarts and common sense that are benefits that only age alone can give you.
Here’s a short synopsis of my background. I graduated from high school as valedictorian of my class in 1969. Three days after receiving my diploma, I was on a plane to Colorado Springs to enter the United States Air Force Academy. I spent four years on the Dean’s list and graduated in 1973 with a B.S. in Finance and Business and a commission as a second lieutenant. I had the opportunity to fly in the T-41C Mescalero, T-33 Shooting Star, F-4 Phantom II, and F-106 Delta Dart.
My goal had been to become an astronaut, but less than perfect eyesight kept me out of the program. I decided to do the next best thing and get into the space business by working on high-technology satellite programs. I spent six years on active duty in the project management field as a USAF procurement officer for aviation system and space communications development programs.
After leaving the military, I joined the private aerospace industry as a business, contracts, and project manager for highly classified defense satellite programs. Much of my work involved the preparation of executive briefings, contract correspondence, negotiation strategies, and new business plans for important, high-technology programs. Writing was a critical aspect of what I did, and was always a significant component of my success in business.
At the same time, I attended law school at night and received a Juris Doctor degree. I had no intentions of becoming a lawyer, but felt that this was an excellent way to enhance my analytical and research skills. Years later I decided to take the bar examinations in both California and New Hampshire, and I am a member in good standing of both State Bars, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States.
I have a strong background in the areas of business, personal finance, investing, economics, stock markets, marketing, law, science, aviation, sports, entertainment, travel, and American politics. Beyond that, I will tackle any subject no matter how complex or obscure.
On a personal note, I’ve recently taken up ballroom dancing. I’m parachute qualified and have made jumps out of both propeller and jet aircraft. My four brothers and I have had a sixties rock 'n' roll band for over thirty years, and we continue to perform when we can all get together. I am very skilled with most computer software, particularly Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher.
I have the ability to put into words any message or story that you want to communicate, for whatever audience you are targeting. I deliver a top-notch product, on-time, and within budget. If you are looking for a freelance writer who you can trust to always have your best interests at heart, I hope you will give me your serious consideration.
